Neighborhood Safety Programs by Parklight

Helping neighbors access important electrical upgrades more efficiently and affordably.

At Parklight, we believe some upgrades make the most sense when neighbors move together.

Our Neighborhood Safety Programs are designed to make important electrical improvements easier to understand, easier to schedule, and easier to coordinate within a neighborhood. These programs are always available and move forward once there is enough interest in a specific area.

There is no obligation to participate. Submitting interest simply helps us understand demand and determine next steps.

Why neighborhoods participate?

When similar work is completed for multiple homes in the same area, scheduling and installation can be done more efficiently.

When nearby homes schedule similar work together it helps reduce overall install costs. This doesn’t change the quality of equipment or workmanship — it simply makes group scheduling more efficient. Exact pricing and timing are shared once there’s neighborhood interest.

Exact pricing and scheduling details are shared once a neighborhood shows enough interest to move forward.

Program 1 - Neighborhood Surge Protection Program

This upgrade helps protect expensive home systems and electronics from unexpected power surges caused by utility fluctuations or storms.

What’s included

  • Installation of whole-home surge protection at the main electrical panel

  • Equipment rated for residential service entrances

  • Installation performed by a licensed and insured electrician

  • Work completed in accordance with local electrical codes

How it works

  • Homeowners in the same neighborhood express interest

  • Once enough homes are interested, scheduling is coordinated

  • Installations are completed during a planned install window

  • Grouped scheduling helps reduce overall install costs while maintaining the same equipment and installation standards.

Exact timing and details are shared once a neighborhood is ready to move forward.

Program 2: Neighborhood Smoke and CO Safety Program

Smoke and carbon monoxide alarms are one of the most important safety features in any home. Smoke and carbon monoxide detectors expire TEN YEARS after their install.

What’s included

  • Review of existing smoke and carbon monoxide alarms

  • Replacement with modern, sealed, long-life units where appropriate

  • Proper placement and interconnection as required

  • Installation performed to current electrical and safety codes

How it works

  • Neighbors express interest together

  • Installations are grouped for efficiency

  • Homes are upgraded during a coordinated install period

This program is especially helpful for older homes or neighborhoods with original alarm systems.
